PinellasWorks offers JOB SEEKERS adversely affected by Covid-19 opportunities to learn new skills in key local industries and get back to work. Job seekers who would like to participate must have experienced unemployment due to COVID-19 and be US Citizen or authorized to work in the US, a Pinellas County resident, and 18 years of age or older.
Eligible EMPLOYERS can receive 100 percent reimbursement for the costs associated with training new employees and can earn a retention incentive for permanently hiring participants. For-profit or non-profit businesses that would like to participate in providing on-the-job training opportunities must have experienced economic impact due to COVID-19, and have been in operation for at least one year. On-the-job training placement opportunities for businesses and residents will last a minimum of 30 days and must be completed by December 15, 2020. Jobs eligible for this program will meet Florida’s minimum wage requirements, and the employee worksite location must be within Pinellas County.
